The virus does not give up: 20 deaths and more hospitalizations in Ontario, many deaths also in Alberta and Quebec

TORONTO – The virus does not give up in Ontario: despite the comforting data of the last few weeks, today’s numbers show a growing with another 20 deaths and 779 patients with Covid-19 in the hospitals of the province, down from 914 last week but in sharp increase compared to 693 on Monday and 684 on Sunday. Of the 779 patients currently in hospital, 246 are in intensive care, a number down from the 278 on last Tuesday and also on Monday’s 249.  (more…)

Covid-19 in Ontario, hospitalizations still below 700

TORONTO – The number of hospitalizations for or with Covid-19 in Ontario remains below 700 for the second in a row and intensive care hospitalizations are left below 250: today there were 693 patients in hospital – in ordinary wards – with coronavirus, against the 684 on Sunday, the ICU went from 247 to 249. Small increases, while some are still due to the fact that hospitals do not update the data over the weekend. The downward trend in hospitalizations in Ontario is therefore confirmed, despite the slight increases.  (more…)

Covid-19: hospitalizations are still falling

TORONTO – Covid-19, for the first time in two months the number of patients in intensive care in Ontario falls below 250: today they were 247. And 684, in total, hospitalized, a sharp decline compared to 795 patients present on Saturday. It is also true that not all hospitals report patient data over the weekend, but the decline is still substantial and confirms the trend of the last few weeks.  (more…)

Covid-19 in Canada, fewer hospitalizations but still too many deaths

TORONTO – New decline in Covid-19 hospital admissions in Ontario: from 847 patients on Wednesday, they dropped to 834 today, the lowest number since last December 29, when the number of hospitalized patients was 726. Attendance in intensive care also falls: today 267, yesterday 278. However, the number of victims remains high: today another 19 people died from or with Covid-19. Now the total deaths in Ontario, since the start of the pandemic, are 12,497.  (more…)
