Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Positive signs from the coronavirus front: the number of Covid-19 infected patients admitted to the Ontario intensive care units dropped to 119 today, the lowest level recorded since last summer. The last time ICU hospitalizations had been this low was on August 16, 2021, when the same number of patients was registered. (more…)

TORONTO – 1,362 people are hospitalized in Ontario with or due to Covid-19, 212 of which in intensive care: today’s data could indicate a decrease in the number of Covid patients compared to the day before when the hospitalized were 1,684 (unchanged, instead, the number of people in the ICU), but it should be noted that not all hospitals report data over the weekend. TORONTO – Per la prima volta in più di un mese, il numero di pazienti Covid-19 nelle unità di terapia intensiva dell’Ontario ha superato quota 200: per la precisione, 202 pazienti dei quali quasi la metà (91) respira con l’assistenza di un ventilatore. È il numero più alto di persone in ICU con Covid-19 dallo scorso 16 marzo. E va considerato anche che i dati sui ricoveri sono probabilmente sottostimati dato che alcuni ospedali in genere durante il fine settimana non riportano i numeri di posti-letto occupati. In totale, ieri erano 1.301 le persone infette ricoverate negli ospedali, con un aumento del 19% rispetto allo stesso giorno della scorsa settimana…
TORONTO – For the first time in more than a month, the number of Covid-19 patients in Ontario’s intensive care units has exceeded 200: to be precise, 202 patients of whom almost half (91) are breathing with assistance of a fan. It is the highest number of people in intensive care with Covid-19 since last March 16.
