“Omicron and mild symptoms? That’s a myth, it’s very dangerous”

TORONTO – The threat posed by Omicron is frightening. The new variant has created a climate of great concern in the international scientific community, although at the moment there is no unequivocal assessment of this new threat. On the one hand, in fact, we have numerous virologists who have highlighted how the first data coming from South Africa and Europe have highlighted a greater transmissibility of the coronavirus and, at the same time, the presence of generally milder symptoms for the infected compared to the Delta strain and the other variants that have characterized this pandemic. 

Covid vaccine, it’s the children’s turn

TORONTO – There are over 36 thousand appointments booked so far for the administration of the Covid-18 vaccine to children aged between 5 and 11 years. Today clinics, hospitals and pharmacies began to administer the first dose to children whose age falls within this range. So far in Toronto, 36,373 appointments have been booked out of the more than 49,086 total places available for children until December 11th. 

Overcrowded classrooms during the pandemic? It’s not my fault…

In the chaos in which Ontario’s Education sector finds itself, characterized by accusations, invective, controversies, complaints, retaliation and divisions, we have witnessed the most classic blame game on the responsibilities in a situation that is becoming unsustainable, especially in the Toronto Catholic District School Board. To try to understand what is happening, we must necessarily start from a fact: starting from October 12 there has been a merger of dozens of classes in many schools of the Catholic Board, with the consequent increase in the number of students in the individual classrooms.

Liberal dropped its candidate in Spadina-Fort York riding

TORONTO – The federal Liberals have dropped their nominated candidate, Kevin Vuong in the downtown Toronto riding of Spadina-Fort York, and he will not be a member of their party’s caucus if he is elected Monday, after the Toronto Star revealed that he was charged with sexual assault of a woman in 2019, who actually told the Crown prosecutor in the case that she “didn’t have the energy” to proceed with a trial process but maintained her allegations are true.
