Italy, more than 3.5 million over 50s are not vaccinated

BOLOGNA – Coronavirus in Italy: new cases stable for three weeks, but hospitalizations among the unvaccinated continue to rise. Also because in August there was a drop in the vaccination campaign (-66.5%) and still more than 3.5 million over 50s remain uncovered (the over 50s in Italy are 27,353,240 out of a population of 59,258,000). This is what emerges from the data released by the Gimbe Foundation of Bologna as part of the independent monitoring carried out every week.

Canada, 22 million unused vaccines

TORONTO – From the desperate search for vaccines against Covid-19 to having millions of them in freezers throughout the country. Canada, it would seem, does not like half measures. Data on deliveries, distribution and injections of vaccines provided by Health Canada and the provinces show that nearly 22 million doses have been delivered to Canada but not yet used. This includes a national “reserve” of nearly 10 million doses and over 11.7 million doses provided to provincial and territorial governments that have yet to be administered.

TORONTO – When the school year resumes Ontario will allow students to participate in “close indoor sports” such as basketball and hockey, and the province does not yet plan to impose COVID-19 vaccinations for educators, staff or students. The Minister of Education of Ontario Stephen Lecce reiterated this today during a press conference: the provincial government will continue to support its immunization campaign, he said, but the mandatory “at the moment” is not taken into account.
