Week One in the Election Campaign, Confused Yet?

TORONTO – The election campaign has only just begun and there is trouble on the horizon. Some campaign organizations will have to “uncomplicate issues “, for themselves, as well as for the electorate. To begin, all the campaign teams seem to have accepted the old political philosophy that ‘all politics is local’. From one competition to another: Canadians anticipate the imminent call of the federal election

Canada is gearing up for another type of competition following the end of the Tokyo Olympics. A political race so to speak. With campaign plans at the ready, speculation mounts that the imminent election call could be days away.

Many Canadians have concerns about holding an election in the middle of a pandemic. With that in mind, the Corriere Canadese spoke with Francesco Sorbara, Member of Parliament for Vaughan-Woodbridge and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue to discuss how Canada has managed the pandemic so far. Mississauga named one of the Top7 Intelligent Communities worldwide

Cities are the engines of economic growth. In a modern society, technology plays a key role in making cities function better, faster and smarter. Tools like network connections, computers, sensors and cameras, can help communities use integrated data to make wiser decisions. A digitally “Smart City” is a benefit to its residents, but an “intelligent community” is one that uses information and technology to drive prosperity, tackle social and economic issues and helps enrich the lives of its inhabitants.

This year, the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) named Mississauga as one of the Top7 Intelligent Communities in the world. (more…)
