Windsor West provincial electoral district is situated at the Southwestern tip of Ontario. It covers an area of 82 square km and encompasses the western part of the city of Windsor. The Detroit river, which is divided by the Canada-US boundary, edges along the city’s northern shore.
TORONTO – As the provincial election approaches by leaps and bounds, according to a new poll conducted by Leger on behalf of Postmedia News between February 25 and 27, Ontario’s Conservatives are ahead in preferences while the NDP and Liberals are head to head in the race for second place. In voting intentions, Doug Ford’s Tories are at 39%. Andrea Horwath’s NDP and Steven Del Duca’s Liberals are tied, with 27% respectively. “We are practically two months from the kick-off – said Andrew Enns, vice president in charge of Leger at the Winnipeg office – starting from now on you can already see where the parties are in terms of preferences”.

This is the crossroads at which the ruling class of the Conservative Party finds itself, which has to deal with the creeping discontent of the Tory base dissatisfied with the defeat at the polls and the impatience of a large group of parliamentarians already ready to question the leadership of the former minister for veteran affairs. A six years old girl drowned during a private pool party last Saturday night.
Durham County Police were called to a home on Birchview and Ormond Drives at 7 p.m. to investigate a large gathering of people. Upon arrival, they were informed that a 6-year-old girl was missing. Police began searching the property and found her in the swimming pool.
