TORONTO – Another 23 deaths in Ontario, today: the number of victims of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic rises to 12,606. And after just one day of respite, hospitalizations are starting to rise again: today there were 1,392 patients in hospitals against 1,332 just 24 hours earlier. Attendance in intensive care units is only slight: 177 today, the previous day they were 182. →
TORONTO – Despite the unknown future – no one knows what Covid-19 will hold for us in the months to come – easing restrictions has begun around the world. Since today, in Ontario the vaccination passport is no longer required in most restaurants, gyms and cinemas while nightclubs, sports clubs and concert halls can eliminate capacity limits. Probably in two weeks the obligation to wear a mask will also fall. →
TORONTO – The hospitalization curve bends upwards again: today in Ontario hospitals there were 1,550 people with Covid-19, up from 1,369 on Monday. On the other hand, admissions in intensive care decreased, albeit slightly: today 384, yesterday 394, Sunday 402. There are more deaths, compared to Monday (8): today, 19, which bring the total number of victims in Ontario, from the beginning of the pandemic, to 12,120. →
TORONTO – Students from the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) and the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) returned to class today. After taking online classes for two weeks, Monday was supposed to be the day of the big comeback but a massive winter storm forced them to stay home for another two days. The reopening of schools took place – said the TDSB – following the “significant progress” that the city has made in clearing the main roads and secondary roads.
