Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Long-term care is the workhorse of the Conservatives, Liberals and NDP. Now, at the time of the promises in view of the June elections in Ontario, the three parties promise to heal the sector whose flaws have been laid bare by the Covid pandemic. Pandora’s box has been discovered: mistreatment, negligence and until today as many as 4,329 elderly people died in LTC.
The vaccination passport, is without a shadow of a doubt, the bone of contention. Premiers in favor and premiers against are giving life to a clash with blows of words while the infections return to rise a little everywhere. Yesterday in Ontario there were 423 new cases, the highest number since June 14. And with the infections, hospitalizations and intensive care go up. But all this does not seem to change the mind of the prime minister of the province Doug Ford who continues to remain firm on his positions: the vaccination passport, at the moment, is not talked about.
