Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

Of the cumulative total of confirmed positive cases, 82.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 63, bringing total number of fatalities to 128,593.

On Wednesday, health officials in Mexico logged more than 11,000 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 2.6 million. Of the cumulative total, 78.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 219, bringing total number of fatalities to 235,277.

On Tuesday, health officials in Spain logged more than 43,000 new infections over the last four days, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 4 million. Of the cumulative total, 91.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 13, bringing total number of fatalities to 81,033.
Globally, over 187 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 172 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.0 million worldwide.

On Monday, health officials in Bangladesh logged over 13,000 new infections, the highest single day increase since the onset of the pandemic. Of the cumulative total of confirmed positive cases, 85.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 220, the second deadliest day of the pandemic.
