More than 300 victims of child sexual exploitation identified in Canada and US

TORONTO – More than 300 victims of sexual exploitation of minors have emerged from the “dark web”, i.e. the “hidden” internet, where online crimes are committed, often horrific such as child pornography: they were discovered by an international coalition of forces of the order, including the Canadian ones, which have worked in synergy to vanquish the terrible “traffic”. 

Covid-19 in Canada: more than 50,000 deaths since 2020

TORONTO – January 25, 2020: a man in his 50s arrives in Toronto from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the Covid-19 epidemic, and becomes the first “presumed” case of the new coronavirus in Canada. Exactly three years have passed and since then more than 50,000 Canadians have died after contracting Covid-19, according to data released Monday by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). Chaos hospitals: more than 21 hours of waiting in the emergency room in Ontario and 17 in Alberta (with some exceptions)

TORONTO –  Yet another negative record for Ontario hospitals: the average waiting times for patients arriving in the emergency room and needing to be hospitalized reached 21.3 hours in September according to data collected by Health Quality Ontario (HQO ): a considerable increase compared to the already very long average waiting times recorded in August (20.7 hours) and July (20.8 hours). 

LTCH in Ontario, Covid-19 outbreaks more than doubled

TORONTO – Covid-19 outbreaks more than doubled in Ontario’s long-term care homes (LTCH) in the first week of July, according to Public Health Ontario. In the latest weekly report, 42 new outbreaks were recorded in the sector during the week from 3 July to 9 July. This is a 110% increase over the 20 new outbreaks reported the previous week. According to ministerial data, there are 757 active cases among residents and 383 among LTCH personnel.
