Covid, boom of children in emergency rooms. From tomorrow fourth dose for the over 60s

TORONTO – This latest wave of Covid-19 seems to be affecting more children. Visits to hospital emergency rooms by children with severe symptoms are uphill since the pandemic began two years ago. In the last two weeks, 89 children have been hospitalized across the province of Ontario. And the pressure on the Ford government to restore the obligation to wear masks, following this recent spike in infections related to children, is growing. “We’re seeing guys who have a high fever. Children for whom it is painful to breathe, others who need oxygen supplementation,” said Dr. Brett Belchetz who serves in a Toronto emergency room.

Ontario: from tomorrow masks will be optional in most city facilities

TORONTO – From tomorrow goodbye to masks in Ontario. At least in most facilities including schools and kindergartens. The breakthrough was announced last week by Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario Kieran Moore due to the general improvement in the epidemiological situation. To abandon this personal protective equipment in the public transport sector, long-term care, retirement homes and other health facilities, reception centers, prisons and homes for people with developmental disabilities, instead we will have to wait a little longer, to be precise until April 27th.

From tomorrow Ontario relaxes anti Covid restrictions

TORONTO – Almost all the restrictions launched in Ontario to fight the Covid-19 pandemic have been lifted. From tomorrow the vaccination certificate will no longer be necessary to access indoor environments of non-essential activities. This is the most important change: this means that businesses, for example, will no longer be required to ask customers for proof of at least two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine to allow entry. Stores, however, to ensure the safety of their staff and for the peace of mind it offers to their customers, can nevertheless continue to keep the vaccination certificate in force.

Ontario, some restrictions removed from tomorrow

TORONTO – Despite everything, there are conditions for a first easing of restrictions. This is what Ontario Premier Doug Ford said when he announced that from tomorrow gyms, restaurants, theaters, casinos – everyone can open at 50% of the capacity – and indoor social gatherings will increase from 5 to 10, outdoors they can reach 25. In addition, it will be possible to consume food or drinks at indoor sporting events, in concert halls, theaters and cinemas: masks will be required when people are not busy drinking or eating.
