MONTREAL – Here comes the “health tax” for the unvaccinated. Basically: if you don’t get vaccinated, you end up burdening the health system, so it’s right that you pay. This was announced today by the premier of Quebec, François Legault, in light of the continuous increase in hospitalizations (and deaths, only today: 62 in Quebec) in the hospitals of the province.
TORONTO – 580 new cases on Sunday, 511 on Monday, 429 today. In recent days, the contagion curve has continued to decline in Ontario and the seven-day moving average is now 576, down from yesterday (582) and Tuesday (606). TORONTO – Ontario remains above 800 new daily cases of Covid-19 and the seven-day moving average continues to rise: 757 compared to the 688 average daily infections a week ago. On Sunday (latest data available for Ontario), 811 new cases and 3 deaths were recorded in the province. On Saturday there were 944 infections, on Friday 805. The provincial laboratories processed 22,410 test samples, generating a positive rate of at least 2.9%. →
