Covid-19, Ontario starts vaccinations for children between 6 months and 5 years old

TORONTO – Today the Province of Ontario opened reservations for anti-Covid vaccines to infants and preschool children: the appointments – for children aged between six months and less than five years – are therefore available through the portal on line of the province https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine and many parents breathed a sigh of relief, like those interviewed by the CBC. Omicron emphasizes the urgency of vaccinations


From the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ontario has reported more than 626,000 confirmed positive cases, the majority of which were non-fatal. Unfortunately, 10,036 fatalities (as of December 8) were attributable to the virus.

Health authorities point out that following the rollout of Covid-19 vaccines, the incidence of severe infection and fatalities decreased when higher vaccination rates were achieved among the population. (more…)

In a regular weekly meeting held yesterday, the 11 largest municipal governments across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area discussed the ongoing response to COVID-19 across the region as they acknowledge the week as the National Nursing Week, for which they expressed gratitude to nurses as they continue to demonstrate courage and professionalism alongside all healthcare workers.
