Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – The policy requiring employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 has not been deleted. In Ontario the vaccination passport to access restaurants, bars, gyms, cinemas and events is no longer mandatory from Tuesday but, apparently, many municipalities do not care.
TORONTO – The hospitalizations decrease almost every day, the positivity rate as well but there is a number that never goes down, in the daily Covid-19 data: that of deaths. Today in Ontario, 41 were registered and, even if the Ministry of Health is keen to emphasize that most of these are “earlier” deaths, the data cannot fail to worry and in any case raises the tragic death toll in the province, from the beginning of the pandemic, to 12,347. TORONTO – Pressure on the government to ease anti-Covid restrictions and take another step towards what will be the post-pandemic normality. In the last twenty-four hours, numerous Canadian provinces have announced the setting aside of some measures to contain the pandemic, as well as in the rest of the world numerous governments have decided to eliminate some measures activated in the most acute phase of the Omicron wave.
TORONTO – It is nice to be an anti vaxxer, until they touch your wallet. It is a real boom in first doses of vaccine in Quebec two days after the announcement by Prime Minister Francois Legault on the provincial government’s intention to impose a financial penalty in the form of a “health tax” for Quebec adults who are unvaccinated and are not in possession of a valid medical exemption.

And this is because the issue – very topical – is hot and complicated and difficult to solve: a mix of explosive characteristics for the political class, which in these days has therefore preferred to stay behind the scenes, if not in some small case. Yet, despite the embarrassed silences of those who govern us and those who, in opposition, should sting the executive on its shortcomings and shortcomings, vaccination obligation is talked about.
