TORONTO – Suddenly, or so it seems, we are no longer talking about vaccines. That is not entirely true – we are talking about mandates and the relative effectiveness or futility vaccinations. For two years, as a willing public we have trusted our political-administrative and medical-scientific leadership to make the right choices. We complied. In the last two weeks that trust has snapped.

TORONTO – The election campaign has only just begun and there is trouble on the horizon. Some campaign organizations will have to “uncomplicate issues “, for themselves, as well as for the electorate. To begin, all the campaign teams seem to have accepted the old political philosophy that ‘all politics is local’. As crass as it may appear, the central theme for the voter is “talk to me after the cheque clears the bank”. →
TORONTO – After the brief stalemate of recent months, vaccines now continue to flow continuously. This week Canada will receive about 5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Five million that will bring the total number of doses received to 68 million, enough to administer two doses to all 33.2 million Canadians aged 12 years and over. Children under the age of 12 will have to wait for the completion of tests in this age group before they can be immunized. →
Improving public health indicators and increasing rates of vaccination mean Ontario is ready to ease more restrictions. It also means more people are able to return to work and head back to the office. But, could there be change in store for the standard 5-day work week? →
