The gray whale sighted in the Mediterranean is a “puppy” and was not born in the Atlantic but in the Pacific, from which it moved away, perhaps ending up getting lost. NAPLES – A whale believed to be extinct in the Atlantic has been sighted in the Mediterranean, along the Italian coast, to be precise between the Gulf of Naples and Ponza, and is said to be continuing its ‘journey’ northwards.
