Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Mary Simon (in the pic) is Canada’s new Governor General. This was announced today by Justin Trudeau, who, with the appointment of the Queen’s new representative, wanted to send out a very precise political signal. Simon is in fact an Inuk leader, representative of the indigenous peoples of Canada and his appointment comes at a time of general rethinking of the history of our country, in particular the federal government’s treatment of Aboriginal people in the past. All this week, Canadians across the nation draw attention to nurses and the vital role they play in Canada’s health care community. The theme of this year’s Nursing Week (May 10-16), developed by the Canadian Nurses Association is titled: “We Answer The Call”.

Tony Di Piazza, an Italian-American entrepreneur and former vice president of Palermo Calcio, born in Palermo and resident in New York, has decided to make a reward available to help “put an end to” the painful affair of fellow countrywoman Denise Pipitone.
