Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

Of the cumulative 2.8 million confirmed positive cases, 92% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 11 bringing the total fatalities to 74,573.

On Wednesday, health officials in Ontario logged 411 new infections in the last 24-hours, the lowest single-day increase in four months. The additional cases pushed the official national tally of positive cases to over 537,000. Of the cumulative total, 97.1% are considered recovered. In the last day, Covid-related deaths increased by 33, 11 of which were recorded as a data catch-up from April/May. Ontario’s Covid-related death toll is now 8,920.
