Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

Medical supplies from Canada arrive in India bringing much needed aid to help the country’s overwhelmed healthcare system and to help curb the onslaught of new infections in the country. Over the last two-days, health officials in India logged more than 800,000 new infections with an additional 8,300 Covid-related deaths.

After logging another 17,550 new infections in the last 24-hours, Germany’s Covid-19 case count surpassed 3.5 million, with 89.3% of all cases recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 245, brining the total to just over 85,000 fatalities.

The trajectory of Covid-19 cases and fatalities continue to soar in India. Another record-breaking day as the country’s health officials record more than 406,000 new infections and an additional 3,841 Covid-related deaths in the last 24-hours.

After logging less than 3,000 cases for the past two days in a row, health officials in Ontario recorded another 3,424 new infection. The province is reporting 877 patients in the ICU, down from more than 900 earlier this month.

As vaccinations efforts continue across the UK, more than 50 million doses have been administered into the arms of citizens. Thus far 95.7% of all confirmed positive cases have recovered. In the last 24-hours, the country’s health officials recorded 1,946 new infections, a slight increase from the previous day’s report.
