Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. Coronavirus cases race out of control in India as the country records another record high spike in daily new infections. In the last 24-hours, the country’s health officials reported an additional 152,536 new Covid-19 cases. That is the highest single-day increase since the start of the pandemic.

Another record setting day in India as Covid-19 cases overwhelm the health care system. The country recorded an additional 345,000 new infections since yesterday, the world’s highest daily tally of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. Covid-related deaths jumped by more than 2,600 in the last 24 hours.
