YCDSB, fundraising for students experiencing financial distress

TORONTO – This week, the York Catholic District School Board will launch a new board-wide fundraiser to help students experiencing financial distress. This fundraiser will occur on Thursday, October 17, 2024, for the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

During the current affordability crisis, YCDSB students and staff feel compelled to help their neighbors in need. So, in the YCDSB’s school it will be possible to make donations: then, YCDSB staff, specifically the Attendance Counselling Service Team, will use the money raised to provide individualized support to help students attend school regularly.

This fundraiser will also raise awareness about the issues surrounding poverty. “If you can donate to this fundraiser, many families in York Catholic will be most grateful for your support” write the YCDSB on its website, here: https://www.ycdsb.ca/fundraiser-international-day-for-the-eradication-of-poverty/
